Adam Penny

Managing Director & Founding Partner

Adam is MD and Creative Director of Connected Pictures, overseeing all production output. He has worked in TV and online video content for over 12 years. In that time he has produced TV documentaries, commercials and video campaigns. He has created videos and campaigns for clients, including:

ArcelorMittal, Cargill, Dixons Retail, Levis, Microsoft, John Lewis, Moet & Chandon, Electrolux, Johnnie Sapong, SABMiller, British Airways, HSBC, Strongbow, EMI and Nissan.

He has worked with agencies across Europe, including:

Adam & Eve DDB, CHI & Partners, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWAParis, TBWALondon, St Luke’s, DLKWLOWE.

His TV producing and exec credits include:

Movimento, a documentary about street children and the favelas of Rio for Channel 4, The Urban Chef for BBC2, celebrity based music show Everybody Loves Lil Chris, World’s Youngest Daredevils with Myleene Klass for Sky One, Turing for Channel 4 and The Four Year Plan following debt ridden football club QPR being taken over by billionaires Flavio Briatore and Amit Bhatia.

Jon Ayres

Executive Producer & Partner

Jon has been involved in Commercial and Brand film production for over 10 years. His experience began within The Facilities Group, part of the Saatchi & Saatchi’s commercial production arm, working with clients including Toyota, Johnson & Johnson, Currys and Cereal Partners. His brand communications experience was established while working for New Moon television from 2004. Amongst other high profile productions, he was involved with the winning pitch film from the London 2012 Olympic bid.

He joined the Connected Pictures team in 2006, as a producer for the key brand clients. He became a Partner in 2010 and has continued to help drive the company’s vision ever since.

He has produced commercial content for a wide variety of agencies and brands, including:

British Airways, Strongbow, Levi’s, Footlocker, John Lewis, easyJet, Microsoft and P&G.

Philip Sheikh

Business and Brand Development Lead

Sheikh has co-founded, an online platform that connects creatives and matches them to work opportunities relevant to their skills with global brands and artists. The company had raised $500,000 at the seed round and grown to over 7000 users within a year after launch. The team successfully executed various projects including the Alexander James Artist Residency in partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi and the UAL. Chainy had also launched the world’s largest video competition for migration with the LSE Institute of Global Affairs in partnership with Cannes Lions and The Guardian sponsored by George Soros’s Open Society Foundations for $10,000 to raise awareness to the global crisis of migration through stories shared through film.

Sheikh is passionate about storytelling and building business.

Miriam Van Emst


Miriam is a bilingual producer, brimming with creativity and passion who has experience in multi-faceted media and worldwide production.

Starting her career as a spokesperson for World Vision, she developed her knowledge during an internship for Lionsgate in LA, whilst working on the TV show, Casual. She finessed her skills at Channel Nine Network, Australia and assisted on top reality show The Block. She joined Connected Pictures at the beginning of 2016 and has since produced video content for the likes of Molton Brown, Canon, ArcelorMittal and Virgin Trains.

Stephen Ashwell


Stephen was drawn into a career in filmmaking by an adventurous spirit and a love for storytelling. Since joining Connected Pictures Stephen has directed and shot films across Europe and Africa, from documentaries to branded content and commercials. He has worked on a wide variety of output including films for Volkswagen, John Lewis, Land Rover, British Airways, Barclaycard and Molton Brown, as well as a series of short form documentaries for the easyJet/UNICEF charity partnership. Although Stephen loves working with big brands, his true passion is in making films that support those around the world less fortunate than himself.

Stephen studied at The Northern Film School, winning ‘Best in Brief’ at the Kodak Commercial Awards for his final year film. He began working in broadcast as a Camera Assistant for ITV and the BBC before moving to Connected Pictures to pursue a career in directing.

Georgia Sanders

Assistant Producer

After living and working in several places across both Europe and North America, Georgia was offered a springboard into the industry working on a feature film and TV set in Vancouver. With her knowledge of film, photography and events Georgia was quick to understand that a burgeoning career in production and photography lay waiting in London.

Starting at Connected Pictures with an internship working on the Gates Foundation Polio shoot in partnership with M&C Saatchi welcomed Georgia into the team. She now works across several clients including Pfizer, Alexion, UNICEF and the M&C Saatchi World Services, filming globally on short films and branded content. She has a particular interest in working on specialist films that tackle some of the world’s most challenging humanitarian issues, such as the World Food Program / EU #whatfoodmeans series, which reached over 205 million people across Europe through the campaign.

Theo Gelernter


Whilst studying for his degree in Psychology, Theo edited several award winning short films and music videos. After graduating, he worked as a shooter/editor for CBBC, before joining Connected Pictures to truly hone his editing skills.

Theo loves to draw upon his research into the human mind, allowing him to edit with an acute sensitivity to the audience’s perspectives, and the emotions of the characters in the stories being told.

Sebastian Ziabka

Media Manager

Sebastian is passionate about technology in creative industries. He studied Sound & Video Technology at Salford University/Media City UK. After moving to London in 2014, he worked at Splice Post as part of media and tech team, supporting producers, editors and colourists on various TV shows and documentaries. This experience gave him the opportunity to use newest technology and get to know the industry. In 2016 he joined Connected Pictures to explore new areas of technology and learn about content creation.

Reena Brar

Head of Finance

Reena has worked in finance for over 20 Years. She joined Connected Pictures as a part time Bookkeeper in Oct 2013 and became full time from Jan 2015 she has enjoyed everything the position has had to offer ever since. Reena studied Accounting & Finance units in her chosen degree and worked for Accountancy Practices before taking time out to bring up her family. After many months of changing nappies/baby swimming & music classes/afternoon teas she decided to work for the family business. At head office of a Pizza franchise, where she controlled all finances from payroll to daily accounting to monthly management accounting.

Once the family became more efficient and after gaining a vast amount of business experience she decided to form her own company of what she does best; Finance. After studying and becoming an ICB Member she created her own company and gained a number of clients, it was the most enjoyable time as she was meeting a diversity of clients assisting their businesses with good financial control. Coming to Connected Pictures has allowed Reena to use all her past experience plus always attaining new methods to help take the company to a higher financial position.
